Summary of Qualifications & Career Overview
Wayne Kulzer’s career began in production for a major manufacturing company that promoted innovation.  In 1980 he entered a 4-year millwright apprentice program and moved into all phases of manufacturing maintenance where he helped write all corporate standards for new and rebuilt equipment. Wayne was a member of a team that launched the company’s first “Precision Maintenance” program in the 1990’s.  After his company was acquired by a Fortune 500 organization, he received extensive training from leading experts on vibration analysis in support of his Reliability Analyst role. In 2000 Wayne added training responsibilities to his Journeyman Millwright duties. He wrote training and task packets when the company migrated from a single-craft to a multi-craft work model. He also served on the Apprentice committee for millwrights, welders, pipefitters and machinists for four years and ensured that employees had educational support during the program. Wayne joined Reliability Solutions in 2012 to contribute his expertise developed over 30+ years to the company’s clients and promote “Precision Maintenance” practices.

Expertise & Client Contributions

  • Performing field work as a mechanic with responsibility for rebuilding, repairing, installing, aligning, troubleshooting and maintaining pump systems and other industrial equipment.

  • Consulting with corporate executives, engineers, and maintenance leadership as a Technical Consultant and Subject Matter Expert, SME, during the full lifecycle of the implementation of “Precision Maintenance” programs.

  • Developing curriculum and training apprentices, craftspeople, mechanics, engineers, operators, supervisors, and managers in “Precision Maintenance” techniques, principles, and application.

  • Raising awareness in the maintenance organization how small changes in equipment functioning can make huge differences.  

  • Assisting employers in changing the internal culture to adopt “Precision Maintenance” programs that elevate internal standards, maximize equipment life expectancy, and provide tremendous ROI.

  • Supporting clients in reducing maintenance costs with concurrent increases in energy savings (typically 20% or more), manufacturing uptime, and productivity.
